Spiti valley is a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalayas in the north-eastern part of Himachal Pradesh. The name "Spiti" means "The middle land", i.e. the land between Tibet and India. Spiti valley bike trip is one of the most adventurous journeys that one should take. DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 - 
Arrival at Chandigarh

Upon arrival at Chandigarh, you need to reach the hotel on your own and we will provide the details before the tour starts. You will meet our Ride captain or Tour leader in the evening for briefing, Introduction to your motorcycles, riding gears scrutiny, Safety measures and other important aspects of the tour followed by dinner.

Day 2 - 
Chandigarh to Narkanda

Kilometers - 175

On the 2nd day of the Spiti Valley bike trip, we will start our ride towards Narkanda via Shimla. The roads are flat till we reach Kandaghat, after that, we will start ascending towards the valleys of Shimla, after that it will be completely twists and turns till we reach Narkanda. By evening we will reach Narkanda. Narkanda is at the height of 2700Mtrs ASL

Day 3 - 
Narkanda to Chitkul

Kilometers - 185

After breakfast we will start our 3rd day Spiti valley motorbike trip towards Chitkul, we will be riding through foothills of the Himalayas. Enroute we will cross Rampur, Sarahan, Rakcham and Sangla before reaching Chitkul. From Tapri till Chitkul it's an uphill and single-track mountain road, the riding speed will be comparatively slow; we will reach Chitkul by evening. Chitkul is the last village before Indo-Tibet border and you will get plenty of coffee shops around to spend some nice evening. Chitkul is at the height of 3450Mtrs ASL.

Day 4 - 
Chitkul to Nako

Kilometers - 150

After an early breakfast, we will start our ride towards Nako; we will ride on the same road till Tapri where we will take a diversion to Nako. Nako is a village in the Himalayas of northern India, located near the Indo-China border in the Trans-Himalayan region of Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh. Before reaching Nako we will cross Pooh and Khab which are the most important regions on the Hindustan-Tibet highway. After reaching Nako, you can enjoy spending some time at the famous Nako Lake. Nako is at the height of 3662Mtrs ASL.

Day 5 - 
Nako to Kaza

Kilometers - 150

We will leave Nako soon after breakfast since we are going to enter Spiti valley officially today and most of the roads are off-road or under construction. To begin with, we will visit “Gue Mummy”, Gue is a small village that is very close to the Tibet border which has a 500-year-old Mummy, and these were the remains of a 15th-century Buddhist monk named Sangha Tenzin. He was discovered in 1975 when the stupa that was housing him collapsed during an earthquake. Also, we will visit Dhankar Monastery; Dhankar Gompa is over 1000 years old. After exploring some unique places in Spiti valley, we will reach Kaza by evening. Kaza is at the height of 3800Mtrs ASL.

Day 6 - 
Local Sightseeing at Kaza

Kilometers - 70

After riding for 4 days on Spiti Valley Bike trip, we will enjoy some local sightseeing in and around Kaza. Its gonna be a leisure day hence we will start our ride at 10 am after breakfast. First, we will visit “Key Monastery”, it is a 1000-year-old Buddhist monastery situated at the height of 13700Ft ASL, later will ride towards Langza village, then to Komic Village-Highest village in the world connected by Mototrable road at the height of 4520Mtrs ASL. After having lunch at Komic we will ride towards Hikkim village which has the highest post-functional post office in the world at the height of 4400Mtrs ASL. By early evening we will return to Kaza and for the rest of the day you can enjoy exploring Kaza town by walk.

Day 7 - 
Kaza to Chandratal Lake

Kilometers - 100

After exploring some magnificent valleys of Spiti on our Spiti Valley Bike trip we will start our journey towards Chandratal Lake. Chandratal Lake is 100 km from Kaza and its one of the most adventurous road trips of this bike trip to Spiti. Because from Kaza till Chandratal the roads are mostly gravel with slush and water crossing at multiple times.

Before reaching Chandratal we will cross Kunzum La pass at the height of 4550Mtrs ASL. After reaching Chandratal Lake we will check into our camps, after that we will walk for about 1-2Kms to reach Chandratal Lake (Last few Kms there is no motorable road to Chandratal). The altitude of Chandratal is 14,000Ft ASL. 

Day 8 - 
Chandratal Lake to Manali

Kilometers - 125

After spending a night at Chandratal, we will start our last and most treacherous ride on the Spiti Valley bike trip towards Manali. From Chandratal till Gramphu it is full of gravel and multiple water crossing, so be prepared to show your riding skills on this Adventure Motorbike trip to Spiti valley. We will also cross Rohtang pass before reaching Manali. By evening we will reach and will have farewell dinner.

Day 9 -
Departure from Manali

After breakfast, you will be checked out from the hotel at noon and we will drop you to the bus stop towards your onward journey to Delhi/Chandigarh by Volvo bus. 

 

NOTE: Most of the Volvo bus starts after 3 pm since you have ample of time after checking out from the hotel, you can spend some time exploring Manali town on your own.

What is included?

  • Royal Enfield 500cc motorcycle with fuel for the entire trip as per the itinerary (Bikes will not be provided for personal use during the tour).

  • Accommodation on twin/double sharing basis (Hotels/Camps/Guest House).

  • Breakfast and Dinner (Set Menu meals, Starts from Dinner on Day 1 from Chandigarh and Ends with Breakfast on Day 9 at Manali).

  • Dedicated Tour leader for the whole tour as per the itinerary.

  • Mechanic for the entire tour as per the itinerary.

  • A backup vehicle for Luggage (Based on the group size we will provide a backup vehicle, either it will be Bolero/Xylo/Innova/Tempo Traveller).

  • One Helmet and Basic Riding gloves (Both helmets & Gloves are used ones, we recommend each rider to carry their riding gears).

  • Delhi to Manali & Manali to Delhi Volvo Tickets.

  • Portable oxygen cylinders during the entire tour.

  • Inner line permits and Restricted area permit for the Ladakh region.

  • All Sightseeing places entrance and parking fees.

  • GST @ 5% is included.

What is excluded?

  • All your international and Domestic flight tickets.

  • Visa charges.

  • Medical or travel insurance.

  • Personal Damages/accidental damages cost to the motorcycle is not included (Client has to pay for any damages that happened during the tour).

  • Alcohol, tips, room service, or anything which is not mentioned in the above inclusions.

  • Lunch or any other meals which are not mentioned in the inclusions.

  • The cost of riding gears like Jacket, Boots, Riding Pants, etc is not included.

  • For any extra cost arising due to weather conditions, local disturbance, etc, the client has to pay the cost of extra days on the spot.
